Zetu Bags began with a belief: that beautiful, functional design can drive real change. Our model goes beyond sustainability checklists. We design with purpose, from materials to mission. Every Zetu bag supports ethical employment in Uganda and funds a school SeatPack for a child in need. This is where cultural storytelling meets circular thinking.
The SeatPack Impact
Every Zetu bag funds a SeatPack, a schoolbag that transforms into a classroom chair. In areas where schools lack basic furniture, this innovation means a child doesn’t have to sit on the floor to learn. By reducing the need for external furniture, it also lowers material waste and resource strain.
How Our Bags Make a Difference
We use locally sourced organic cotton and authentic African kitenge fabrics. This supports local economies and cuts down our carbon footprint.
Every bag is handmade in small batches by Ugandan artisans paid fair wages, ensuring sustainable livelihoods for makers.
Our packaging is plastic-free and made from recycled materials, simple, minimal, and responsible.
We design for longevity, less waste, and fewer replacements. A Zetu bag is made to be cherished and used for years.
Our Commitment to Growth Without Waste
We believe in conscious scaling. Today, over 80% of our materials are locally sourced. We’re working towards launching a circular take-back programme and measuring our carbon footprint more precisely. We know the journey isn’t perfect, but we’re transparent, and we’re always improving.
